The mere mention of Penang gets people raving about their food. It’s a known fact that Penang homes some of the best dishes in Malaysia and some tourist go all the way to Penang for a total food feast! Then there are the ones who love the sun, sea, and beach who will tell you about the wonderful times they had at the beach. If not at the beach, they’d be exploring the island’s many cultural and historical landmarks to feed their curiosity about the 16th century colonization of the British.
The feeling is strange when you see Penang. Its leisure, business and history all emerges into one and you will feel a complete vacation within days! It has everything anyone needs here.
Most tourists head to Fort Cornwallis. It’s a good place to start a tour and end up with a delicious meal on Penang Road or Pulau Tikus. For food, the Gurney Drive is a popular favourite with a variety of food available for each and everyone’s palette. If you have more exquisite taste,Batu Ferringhi is home to some of the most established restaurants in Penang, namely Eden for asian dishes and seafood, and The Ship for a good western steak or lobster meal.
You will be glad with the amount of night activities as Batu Ferringhi has a night market selling all sorts of bits and bobs. You don’t have to shop for anything but strolling up the street is enjoying enough for most.
The languages spoken in Penang are mostly Hokkien, English, and Malay. Other languages and dialects can be spoken here too but may not be as used as the first mentioned three. Most locals are friendly so don’t be afraid to approach them recommendations.
Penang is definitely are place to have your holiday!!
Happy Holiday!!
